With the cybersecurity landscape constantly evolving, regional gatherings like the 2025 Mexico City Technical Colloquium are vital for incident response professionals. Organized by the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), the event took place in Mexico City from October 27 to 29, 2025.  

WhoisXML API’s Vice President of Research, Ed Gibbs, was one of the speakers at the gathering. He co-led a session titled “Advanced Signals: NextGen Threat Hunting using Active and Passive DNS and Internet NetFlow Telemetry,” along with Ernesto Guzmán, Head of the Digital Forensics and Incident Response team at ES Consulting.

Representatives from WhoisXML API joined hundreds of cybersecurity professionals and enthusiasts at the BSides Chicago 2025 conference, held at the Hilton Chicago from October 31 to November 1, 2025.

The WhoisXML API team, including Tara Conneally (Enterprise Partnership Development III), Hanna Frank (Technical Account Executive), and Michael Kaparos (DevSecOps & Threat Researcher), was on site. We participated with a booth alongside vendors from across the cybersecurity community, such as Aikido, Bitwarden, GitGuardian, Guidepoint Security, Push Security, and SecurityScorecard.

WhoisXML API representatives led by Alex Ronquillo, Vice President, and Ed Gibbs, VP of Research and Development, joined more than 20,000 attendees at Black Hat USA 2025, which took place on 2–7 August 2025, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

The RSA Conference held in San Francisco from 28 April to 1 May 2025 attracted a record-breaking 41,000 attendees, and we’re thrilled to say that WhoisXML API representatives were among them. The global cybersecurity gathering featured 413 sessions and 656 exhibitors, all offering valuable insights into emerging cybersecurity trends—evolving threats, cutting-edge solutions, and industry best practices.

Ching Chiao, Head of APAC & Global Partnership at WhoisXML API, joined more than 20,000 security professionals from around the world in the recently concluded Cybersec 2025. He participated as a speaker at the three-day conference and expo that aims to take on digital threats as one cybersecurity community.

Held in Taiwan on 15–17 April 2025, Cybersec 2025 hosted more than 300 sessions and speakers and focused on 28 various themes, including artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, AI of Things (AIoT) and hardware, financial technology (fintech), and open-source security. Several of the topics resonated with us, and we’ll dive into some of them in this post.

WhoisXML API representatives recently attended the ICANN82 Community Forum held in Seattle on 8–13 March 2025, where they participated in cross-community conversations and plenary sessions.

The event brought together prominent figures in the industry—Curtis Lindquist, ICANN President and CEO; Nayala Saras, Vice President of Global Stakeholder Engagement, North America; and Tripti Sinha, Chairman of the ICANN Board of Directors; and many other leaders.

Ed Gibbs, Vice President of Research at WhoisXML API, joined thousands of cybersecurity leaders and innovators at the SecurityScorecard Odyssey.conf, held in Miami, Florida, on 25–27 February 2025.

The event, known for its focus on supply chain cyber risk management, provided a valuable opportunity to consider the role of domain and IP intelligence in strengthening defenses against cyber threats, aligning with this year’s theme, “Charting the Course for Cyber Resilience.”
